Most of us require a first and last name to identify ourselves. The most famous of us -- Cher, Bono, Adele -- are so recognizable that a first name alone will do. And then there are those who require no name at, and yet we all know who they are.
The cat lovers among us know Kitten Lady not by her real name – Hannah Shaw – but by her moniker and, more importantly, her deeds.
According to her website, kittenlady.org, “Hannah Shaw is a kitten rescuer, humane educator, author, and unwavering animal advocate who has dedicated her life to finding innovative ways to protect animals. Her project, Kitten Lady, strives to create global change in the way we perceive and treat the tiniest and most vulnerable felines: orphan kittens.”
Kitten Lady uses her viral social media following to advocate for kittens. She provides educational workshops and resources to help individuals and animal shelters learn how to save and care for kittens. She also operates Orphan Kitten Club, a rescue which serves her home town of San Diego.
I recently sent along a Monster Cheese Wedge to entertain Kitten Lady’s latest batch of kitten mayhem and this is what ensued. I’d say a grand time was had by all.
